Annie Duke grew up in a family where playing cards was a way of life - her older brother is renowned poker pro, Howard Lederer. After dropping out of a PhD candidate program in cognitive psychology, big brother Howard suggested she try her hand at poker. With intensive study and coaching, she debuted as a force to be reckoned with, beating her brother and finishing 13th in her very first WSOP tournament! She's continued to improve and has grown to be one of the greatest poker players in the world.

When Annie is not playing she is a consultant for Ultimate Bet and has served as a coach to celebrities including Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
