Born in Canada, Daniel Negreanu (who now lives in Las Vegas) made a big impression early in his career by winning Best Overall Player at the 1997 World Poker Finals. A hard act to follow, but follow it he did by winning the WSOP $2000 Pot Limit Hold em event in 1998 at age 23, making him the youngest ever WSOP winner.
