Sometimes likened to Jim Carrey, Gus Hansen is known not only for being one of the top tournament poker players but for the unusual grimaces he makes during the course of a game. Behind those faces lies an expert on both probability and the art of reading other players with a very loose and aggressive style poker, often playing hands no other player would dare to play. This strategy has worked well for him, making him the only player to have won 4 WPT tournaments as well as the Poker Superstars Invitational. In 2004 Gus Hansen was inducted into the World Poker Tour Walk of Fame.

Before turning to professional poker, Gus was a world class tournament backgammon player and a youth tennis champion.
